A New Commuting Blog
I’ve actually given a name to this Tumblr blog now besides my own name. The new name represents the new use I will be giving to this space. This blog will now solely focus on commuting issues in both the Baltimore and Washington areas. I will try to focus equally on all modes of transit, even though my current commute is rail (MARC) from Baltimore to DC and then either Metro or DC Circulator when I get there for a brief ride. The name seems appropriate since we will talk about traffic and roads plus my morning commute on MARC takes me underneath both the Baltimore and DC beltways.
I currently commute from White Marsh to an office near the White House. I’ve also commuted from the same starting point to an office in Old Town Alexandria. At various times my commuting experiences include MARC (both Penn and Camden Lines), DC Metro (Rail and Bus), MTA Light Rail, DASH buses, and DC Circulator. I go by car to my first stop on the Penn Line and I walk to my office at the end of the commute. I have also carpooled in the past on the interstates of Baltimore from the same starting point to the UMBC and Howard County areas.
I will be making posts on this blog that will be venting about problems with MARC, but if I concentrated only on that, this blog would be nothing but MARC gripes. I will try to throw in news, humor, pictures, videos and other information. Some of the news links will be to Inside Charm City, which is a blog I also publish.

I would be remiss in not mentioning that the greatest influence on my MARC blogging at Inside Charm City was Mike Netherland and his MARC Train blog. Unfortunately, he’s not with us anymore to read this new blog. I think about him almost everytime a MARC train I’m riding stops at Odenton, which was his stop.
